The first ever Pro/AM Cut slopestyle series kicked off this past weekend in
Winterberg Germany with 70 amateur and 35 pro competitors and a huge crowd of
Winterberg locals coming out to support the riders.
?The course was really fun and the crowd was awesome,? said Cut pro rider
George Ryan. ?They did a really great job putting the event together. It was
sick to see the ams come out and rip it up.? The course consisted of ladder
bridges, a huge on/off box, wall rides, massive dirt jumps, berms, and drops.
The amateur event was the first amateur slopestyle event to ever be held in the
world. ?There is a lot of great talent out there, our goal is to give the
amateurs a platform to show their stuff.? said Cut manager Don Hampton.
Jonas Janssen
The winner of the amateur class was 17 year old, Jonas Janssen, from Eberhahn,
Germany and he walked away with a 2006 Chase bike. ?This is my dream bike.?
Said Jonas. ?I think it is really cool that Cannondale supports the up and
comers. I cannot wait to compete in the remainder of the events.?
The Cut?s Carlo Dieckmann from Berlin, Germany took top honors in the pro
class, followed closely in second place by the Cut?s Chris Hatton from
Cornimont, France. Rounding out the top five was George Ryan in fifth place.
?Chris is an excellent rider. He pushes the limits ever time I see him ride.?
explained Dieckmann.
