Gravity Group has today announced the re-signing of young downhill star Sam
Blenkinsop of New Zealand.
After Sam's successful 2006 season which included a victory ahead of two time
World Champion Fabien Barel (FRA) at an NZ National Series event, 2nd place
overall in the World Cup Junior category and finally his 2nd place in the
Junior World Championships - with only 1.1 seconds lost to the winner despite a
time consuming crash in his final run, it was a clear decision for Gravity
Group's team management to retain Sam as a member on their team.
Sam and other Gravity Group team members are looking forward to competing in
the World Championships, World Cup, Maxxis Cup, selected European events as
well as in prestigious promotional events in Europe and North America.
Sam's main objective for 2007 is to get his first ever World Cup podium and to
finish the season in World's Top 10.
TURNER Frames and FOX Suspension will support the team in achieving these
goals.
Sam Blenkinsop, Team Gravity Group: "I'm really happy to re-sign with Gravity
Group for 2007. Last year the team gave me my first chance to race at World Cup
level and I learned a lot. I'm looking forward to returning to the team this
year and achieving more of my goals. The World Cup venues look really good this
year and I'm super keen to hit it hard!"
Peter Siulczynski, Gravity Group: "Team Gravity Group is pleased to work with
Sam for the second time and we are looking forward to supporting him achieving
the goals. We are excited to demonstrate our quality through this cooperation
and we await to perform with him and other team athletes."
