KonaWorld (May 29th, 2006) ? The Kona Global 24Hour Series is back for 2006,
and with it comes more of the mud, blood and sleep deprivation you know and

This year, participants of the only global 24hour race series will have four
opportunities to race their mountain bikes for an entire day, with 24Hour
events planned at; Snow Mountain Ranch, USA, Eschlikon, Switzerland; Catton
Hall, England; and. Redesdale, Australia.
Patrick Adams, the event?s promoter, said for most competitors winning the race
isn?t important. ?It?s about attaining new personal heights, new visions, and
discovering strengths that they didn?t know
that they had,? said Adams. ?It sounds crazy, but many of the participants
thank me for putting them through hell and back.? All events will feature
winner?s purses and amenities such as showers, catering, mechanical support and
technical support from leading brands, which will vary depending on venue. And,
again depending on venue, racers can expect to ride through Aspen or Eucalyptus
groves,
in the shadow of snowcapped mountains, or on the grounds of a fifteenth century
estate.
?The Kona Global 24hour Series brings out the heroes of mountain biking,? said
Kona?s European Marketing Guy Russell Carty. ?At the Snow Mountain Ranch event
last year, one guy rode his bike all the way from Utah, jumped straight into
the race, and, most impressively, drank a can of Pabst after every lap!? Who
knows what freaks of the mountain bike world will appear at this year?s 24Hour
