Project Ultra Marathon Racing
In het begin van dit jaar werd het ambitieuze ‘Project Ultra Marathon Racing’ gelanceerd. Twee redacteuren van Mountain Bike Plus magazine gaan samen met hun fietsmaatjes deelnemen aan de Absa Cape Epic en de Transalp; twee beruchte meerdaagse mountainbike-evenementen die mens en materiaal tot het uiterste testen. Redacteur Bas de Bruin en zijn teammaat Peter de Vaal hebben de Absa Cape Epic in Zuid-Afrika er succesvol op zitten.

Nooit meer een vieze, zwarte ketting met Squirt Lube
Sinds enige tijd distribueert Legends een uniek smeermiddel: Squirt Lube.
Het middel dat voorheen verspreid werd onder de naam Santos Squirt is nu omgedoopt tot Squirt lube. Het is uniek in zijn soort, daar het bestaat uit een emulsie van wax en water ; andere smeermiddelen zijn opgelost in een oplosmiddel, waardoor ze niet genoeg wax bevatten.
Absalon wins in Bern
Julien Absalon (Orbea) has won the mountainbike cross country race in the Swiss capital of Bern.
Absalon made up for his World Cup race in Bromont ,where he lost a good rank due to technical difficulties.
Absalon ended with a gap of almost 40 seconds on Mathias Flückiger (Trek World Racing). Christoph Sauser (Specialized) became third on 2.46.
META Challenge en wedstrijd Steenwijk
Apeldoorn/Steenwijk - Dit weekeinde stonden er voor de renners van het
Stappenbelt BMC Mountainbike Team 2 evenementen op het programma. Op zaterdag
de META Challenge en vandaag de MTB wedstrijd in Steenwijk.
De META challenge was weer een zeer geslaagd evenement. Een goed georganiseerde
spinningmarathon van 12 uur die uiteindelijk ? 15.000,- heeft opgebracht voor
de stichting NRG4All voor verder onderzoek naar stofwisselingsziekten. Het
gehele team, begeleiding en een aantal gasten hebben de 12 uur netjes vol

Cross Country Athletes Announced For New Trek World Cup Team
23 Degrees Sports Management announced today that the 3 Cross Country riders
that will be riding for the new World Cup team sponsored by Trek Bicycles will
be Liam Killeen (GBR), Lukas Flueckiger (SUI) and Matthias Flueckiger (SUI).
The talented trio will bring both experience and youthful determination to the
team, and build on their impressive collective results to date.

Another Strong Season for Team Monster Energy
As the book closes on yet another quality Mountain Bike racing season, Team
Monster Energy's riders and Team Manager reflect on the World Cup finals in
Schladming, Austria, as well as the season as a whole and look forward to the
2009 season. Strong podium places, race wins and a tantalizing glimpse into the
future for Brendan Fairclough, were all highlights of the year that was 2008.
While lead rider Sam Hill (AUS) didn't take home the World Cup title, he
remains philosophical about the season and that last race.

Finale BENELUX cup
Winterslag - De finale van de BENELUX cup was dit jaar net als vorig jaar in
Winterslag, Belgisch Limburg.
Het parkoers is gesitueerd op en rondom een afvalberg van een gesloten
kolenmijn. Ook de entourage van de wedstrijd is erg sfeervol door het vele
publiek wat ieder jaar komt kijken.
Robin Roelofs mocht met de Junioren als eerste van het team starten. Robin
stond in het klassement op een 18e plaats en kon met een goede uitslag in deze
wedstrijd nog wat plaatsen opschuiven. De start van Robin was goed, want hij

Sam Blenkinsop Wins At Schladming
Many people thought Sam would win at Schladming and were saying so all over the
internet for weeks, it's just they were talking about the other Sam, Mr Hill.
When the laid back Kiwi called Blinky by most, ran the fastest time in the
timed training session, and then again in the semis, people were starting to
re-think which Sam would be on top.
By his own admission, Sam Blenkinsop could ride each and every weekend in
Schladming, it's his favourite track of the year by far, but that doesn't take
anything away from an amazing 2nd year elite season which also saw a World Cup
