Ralph Naef and Jose Hermida Win 4th Stage of Absa Cape Epic
Cape Town, 27 March 2007: Team Multivan Merida Biking Team 1 have clinched
their first stage win in the fourth stage of the 2007 Absa Cape Epic. Team
members Ralph Naef (Switzerland) and Jose Hermida (Spain) crossed the finish
line in Barrydale at around 11.00am, having clocked a winning stage time of
four minutes and seven seconds. Their closest competitors, Karl Platt (Germany)
and Stephan Sahm (Germany) of Team Bulls came in just nine seconds behind them.
Today?s route kicked off at 7.00am in Ladismith, with the riders covering 121

For the fourth year running, CapeNature and the Absa Cape Epic team have
successfully partnered in plotting and securing the route for the 2007 Absa
Cape Epic, starting on 24 March in Knysna and ending at Lourensford Wine Estate
on the 31 March. This eight day, full service mountain bike stage race
comfortably embodies the mission statement expressed by CapeNature ? to
establish a 'Conservation Economy' in the Western Cape by using the
conservation of biodiversity within the reserves they manage to invigorate

Brabant (www.omroepbrabant.nl) te zien zijn. Dolphin bikers Bart Brentjens en
Rudi van Houts zijn een van de kanshebbers voor deze prestigieuze mountainbike
race in Zuid Afrika.

Cape Town: Since its inaugural race in 2004, the Absa Cape Epic has swiftly
become an institution in the global mountain bike riding community. As the
largest full service, team, mountain bike stage race in the world and the only
team stage race to be added to the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI)

Knysna, 23 March 2007: With only a few hours to go before the 2007 Absa Cape
Epic presented by adidas kicks off, 1 206 riders from 43 countries were
registered today, as Absa Cape Epic fever took over the small coastal town of
Knysna.
Cannondale-Vredestein 1 Back on Top in 6th Stage of Absa Cape Epic
Villiersdorp, 29 March 2007: Roel Paulissen (B) and Jakob Fugslang (DK) of
Cannondale-Vredestein 1 inched back into the overall leaders? spot, winning the
sixth stage of the Absa Cape Epic with a stage time of three hours, forty six
minutes and 34.7 seconds. They once again hold the coveted top overall spot
with a mere 11 seconds separating them from their closest competitors, German
Team Bulls.
?This is such a crazy race?, says Jakob Fuglsang. ?It is so highly competitive
that each day is a non stop battle. You have to fight for every second and use

Cape Town, 26 March 2007: The first three days of the 2007 Absa Cape Epic,
presented by adidas, have made for arguably the hardest start yet in the
history of the race. 81 riders have already received a blue number board,
meaning that they can ride the race but cannot be listed in the classification
as they did not meet the cut off time in stage two. Nevertheless, spirits are
high in the camp, with participants, particularly the top riders, agreeing that
this is the best race yet, in terms of organisation, route structure and, most
importantly, food.
