Greg Minnaar 2nd in Italian World Cup

With the World Cup title already wrapped up, round 7 of the men?s UCI Mountain
Bike World Cup held today in Pila, Italy, served more as a litmus test for the
upcoming World Championships in 2 weeks where the top contenders got to see how
each other had prepared in the past 5 weeks away from World Cup racing. Adding
to this however, was the mixed weather conditions, which saw a damp course for
the semi finals, with no rain, but a rainy final for the majority of the men?s

For the Team G-Cross riders, their goals today were a little different with

Greg Minnaar 2nd in World Cup Finals

This weekend saw the final chapter of the 2005 UCI Mountain Bike World Cup

never disappoints with huge enthusiastic crowds and dramatic racing. This
weekend saw Greg Minnaar (RSA) stand twice on the podium, and his teammate
Matti Lehikoinen (FIN) scoring a career best result to come within 1 second of

Minnaar Finishes 2nd in NORBA Opening Round

Greg Minnaar finished 2nd today at the opening round of the NORBA Series in the
USA, hosted at Deer Valley, Utah, which is an altitude venue sitting at around
2,500m. This was Greg?s first visit to the race venue since 1999, and the
course was altogether new but with many features reminiscent of US downhill
racing in the late 90?s. Teammate Matti Lehikoinen, at his first ever NORBA
race, was forced to watch from the sidelines as he continues to recover from
his shoulder injury sustained during World Cup racing in Austria last week.

Major Crash For Minnaar Ends Hopes at World Cup 1

The UCI Mountain Bike Downhill World Cup once again chose the north eastern
Spanish city of Vigo today to kick off the new international race season, and
once again the two and a half minute trail (slightly shorter this year) took
its toll on the world's best downhill racers and provided some unexpected
results. 2005 World Cup Champion Greg Minnaar (RSA) crashed heavily in the
final and was lucky to escape serious injury after a small tree stump caught
his front wheel in a high-speed section of the course. Team mate Matti
